Cornell Timescapes: Fine Art Photography by Roland Thibault
An exhibit of black and white photographs, many taken using a long-exposure technique, captures scenes from the Cornell campus that are public and hidden, familiar and arresting, timeless and in a state of constant change.
Self-taught as a photographer, Roland Thibault has studied many aspects of photography, including close-ups, landscapes and portraits. His photographs have been on display in photo exhibitions and magazines in France and the US as well as in several international fine art competitions. Trained as a physicist in France, Thibault is currently a Howard Hughes Medical Institute postdoctoral fellow in biophysics at Cornell University and uses light as a tool to manipulate and elucidate the fundamental aspects of life.
On display, December 14, 2011 through February 27, 2012
